Twycross Zoo is the World Primate centre but has hundreds of other animals and birds providing photogenic models for photographers. The course is designed to provide a unique opportunity to learn and improve your photography and to get up close and learn about the animals. The course will be accommodated in Twycross's very special 'Windows on the Wild' conference centre with exclusive close up views of birds and animals and the opportunity to photograph them.
The course is designed for owners of Digital Single Lens Reflex cameras who wish to learn more about digital photography and improve their picture taking ability. Students will learn how to gain the most from basic camera controls, how to use digital files to best advantage, how to compose and expose pictures etc. Students will also have the opportunity for some of their images to be printed during the day.
Students do not need to have top of the range equipment or long telephoto lenses to produce great pictures. The animals/birds will be close and one to one tuition will help you make the most of the photographic equipment you already have.
The course will start with light refreshments from 09.30 until 10.00 and then be a mixture of theory inputs followed by the opportunity to put the theory into practice. Students will be allowed into areas not open to the general public and gain insights into the lives of the animals from their keepers. A variety of animals/birds will used as subjects ranging from small to the largest. Lunch and afternoon tea will be provided. The course will conclude at approximately 16:45. Students will leave the course with a number of prints, much improved photographic knowledge and technique and memories of a unique, first class experience.
Students will receive comprehensive joining instructions upon booking.
